CDI College Launches a New Graphic Design Program in British Columbia

CDI College is launching a brand-new Graphic Design diploma program at its Abbotsford, Surrey and Victoria campuses in response to increasing demand for versatile, skilled employees in the digital and multimedia industries.
Over the past 50 years, graphic design has emerged as a more complex service profession. While pioneering designers honed their craft on paper by hand, today’s designers are at the forefront of technology, using complex computer software to communicate ideas. Graphic designers are problem solvers who research and manage visual design projects within budgets. Working directly with clients in a studio environment or with teams in advertising agencies, graphic designers develop creative concepts and choose appropriate media to meet desired objectives.
Released last May, “Pixel to Product” is the first yearly report on Canada’s digital media economy and offers a comprehensive analysis of the industry. According to the survey, digital agencies in Canada are projecting between 10% and 24% growth in revenue and 73.4% of them are increasing the size of their labour force in 2011. For prospective students and recent grads who are looking to jump-start their career, the findings of this survey indicate a high demand in the field
